Detoxing is a complex bodily process where nasty toxins that have been silently stored away in your cells are knocked loose, circulate back into your blood stream, and are released out of the body. All this righteous activity is great for you in the long run, but risky for women who are pregnant or nursing because of several sticky side effects, including dehydration and low nutrient intake. The article’s author, Ali Washington, also details what herbs to avoid during pregnancy (steer clear of cilantro and parsley!) and how to make simple alterations to your favorite recipes.
