Bisphenol A: Also known as BPA, is a dangerous chemical used to make also found on everything from dollar bills and register receipts to the lining of aluminum  and steel cans. Animal studies link it to cancer and early puberty, and at least one epidemiological study shows that adults with higher levels of BPA in their urine are at an increased risk of various metabolic diseases (including diabetes and cardiovascular disease).

Most baby bottles and toys now are BPA-free, and the FDA promises to take “reasonable steps to reduce human exposure to BPA in the food supply.” It should be noted that there has been a substitution of BPS and BPF to maintain the claims of BPA free products. Unfortunately these substitutes are equal or worse than BPA .
