Boric acid

Boric acid: A chemical compound that is used as a pesticide (mainly as a roach killer), flame retardant, or antiseptic. Long-term exposureto boric acid causes kidney damage/failure and testicular atrophy. Boric acid is known to cause birth defects in rabbits, rats, and mice. Substances imported into the European Union that contain boric acid are required (as of 2010) to be labeled with the following language: “May impair fertility.
