By now you’re probably getting used to the predictable poking and prodding of the prenatal visit. And because you’re so far along, you’re likely going to visit the OB every other week (brace yourself, you’ll be seeing a whole lot more of your doc in the weeks to come!). The good news is that the appointments become a little more exciting the closer you get to your expected due date. During your 3rd trimester, you’ll begin to learn a little more about your baby – it’s position (anterior or posterior) and possibly it’s length and weight. Around 36-38 weeks, you may go in for a cervix check, or your care provider may not want to do a vaginal exam until you’re in labor. As always, it all depends on baby’s growth and what your doctor determines your needs are as you and baby progress.
